Champagne can only come from wines produce in the Champagne region of France. The vineyards of Champagne cover in excess of 35000 hectares of France, a sprawling network of vines connecting villages and valleys to the south of Reims. The Champagne AOC appellation is one of the most tightly controlled in France, the vineyards are classified, the types of grapes grown are limited, the amount of grape juice from each pressing is controlled, and the age that the wine can be sold at is regulated. Champagne first gained world renown because of its association with the anointment of French kings. Royalty from across Europe spread the message of the unique sparkling wine from Champagne and its association with luxury and power throughout the 17th to 19th century.


Clear , medium golden colour. Clean with light toasty aroma, enhanced by scents of mineral, citrus and apple. Medium acidity with mild alcohol and body. Flavour characteristics exude hint of toasted bread, biscuits, mild oak and light butter.
